Austin councilman Zo Qadri calls for support after 6th Street attack

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin City Council Member Zo Qadri spoke Thursday about a mass shooting that occurred over the weekend in his district, which includes downtown Austin and the University of Texas campus.

During an interview on Inside Austin’s Agenda with host Grace Reader, Qadri described the event as the “worst mass shooting in over six decades,” noting the impact on survivors and community members coping with trauma.

He said many victims remain hospitalized, and others are dealing with emotional effects that could last a lifetime.
