MANILA, Philippines– Andres Muhlach will take on the lead role in the upcoming Bagets musical, stepping into the part once portrayed as the original character of his father, Aga Muhlach.
Producers confirmed the casting during a press event in Manila on Monday and announced that the stage adaptation of the 1984 teen film will premiere later this year.
Andres expressed excitement about joining the project and described the role as a “dream come true.” Aga Muhlach, the original Bagets star, gave his full support to his son’s casting.
The production promises a modern reinterpretation of the classic film, featuring contemporary music, fresh choreography, and a talented young ensemble. Rehearsals began earlier this month, and ticket sales will start next week.
