MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Solomon said Thursday she remains undecided about formally entering the Premier Volleyball League Draft but welcomed the opportunity to join the 2026 Draft Class and apply lessons from her stint in Japan.

Solomon joined 41 other draft aspirants in drills and biometric tests during the opening day of the Draft Combine at GameVille Ball Park.

Her management group, Hustle and Groove, previously said Solomon continues to consider international offers. PVL applicants may withdraw from the draft until June 1.

Solomon declined to discuss details of overseas opportunities but said she appreciated the chance to participate in the draft process alongside Lams Lamina, her teammate from the National University Lady Bulldogs.

“Honestly, I didn’t rush the decision. I spent the past few months really thinking about it carefully,” Solomon told reporters in Filipino. “I’m still thankful to be here now and to have the opportunity to join the draft.”

Solomon said the combine also gave her an opportunity to interact with players from other schools and reconnect with fellow athletes.

“It’s really fun having Lams here, too,” she said. “We talk about our plans and also about what happened with NU recently.”

If she proceeds with the Draft Night on June 3, Solomon said she plans to apply the discipline and work ethic she developed during her rookie season in Japan’s SV.League.

Solomon played for Osaka Marvelous, which finished runner-up in the league.

“I just want to bring everything I learned from Japan,” Solomon said. “What I really learned most from the experience was the value of hard work.”

Galeries Tower Highrisers secured the first overall pick in the 2026 PVL Draft Lottery. Capital1 Solar Spikers, Choco Mucho Flying Titans and ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles will select second, third and fourth, respectively.
