MANILA, Philippines– Alex Eala, a professional tennis player from the Philippines, has dedicated her breakthrough year to her late grandfather and first tennis coach, Roberto “Bobby” Maniego.
Eala reached the semifinals at the Miami Open, an achievement that propelled her to World No. 56 in the rankings.
This success led to her participation in the main draws of the French Open and Wimbledon for the first time.
In the 2025 Eastbourne Open, Eala finished as the runner-up.
She credits her achievements to Maniego, whom she affectionately called “Lolo Bob.”
