Alas Pilipinas, the Philippine volleyball team, has departed for Europe to finalize preparations for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship.

The team, guided by Italian coach Angiolino Frigoni, left the Philippines on Wednesday to conduct training sessions in Morocco, Romania, and Portugal.

Key players Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas lead the squad, along with veterans Owa Retamar, Kim Malabunga, Steven Rotter, Jack Kalingking, and Vince Lorenzo.

Bryan Bagunas is eager to return to competitive play following a year-long recovery from a knee injury. Marck Espejo is rejoining the team after previous commitments.

The team’s European training is part of its preparation for the historic event, where the Philippines will both host and participate in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship for the first time.
