MANILA, Philippines— Actress and comedian Ai-Ai delas Alas on Friday, July 19, called on Starbucks Philippines to install more visible “no pets allowed” signage following an incident involving her dog at one of the coffee chain’s branches.

Delas Alas shared her experience in a Facebook post, stating that during a rainy-day visit to a local Starbucks store, she was reminded of the company’s no-pet policy. She brought her dog with her during the trip and said she was unaware of the restriction due to what she described as unclear signage.

In her public message, she addressed Starbucks directly, requesting that the store make its pet policy more noticeable to avoid future misunderstandings. She emphasized the need for establishments to clearly communicate rules that impact customers and their companions.

Netizens expressed a range of opinions, with some supporting the actress’s appeal for clearer signs, while others defended the store’s enforcement of its policy.

As of this writing, Starbucks Philippines has not issued a public response to delas Alas’s request.
