Netflix has set January 9, 2026, as the premiere date for People We Meet on Vacation, its film adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestselling romance novel, starring Tom Blyth and Emily Bader.

The streaming platform unveiled the rom-com’s first-look images, official poster, and release date through its pop culture site Tudum, highlighting Blyth and Bader as leads Alex and Poppy.

Directed by Brett Haley, the film also features Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, and Lukas Gage in supporting roles.

Author Emily Henry admitted she had been anxious about who would portray her beloved characters but expressed full confidence in the casting.
“I’ve been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters,” Henry told Netflix. “I truly could not feel more confident that my readers, and so many more people who don’t even know about the book, are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex.”

The story follows best friends Poppy (Bader) and Alex (Blyth), who spend their summers vacationing together despite living in different cities. Their bond is tested after one trip to Palm Springs forces them to confront whether their connection is purely platonic or something more.

Henry’s novel was first published in May 2021 and became a fan favorite alongside her other hits, Beach Read, Book Lovers, and Happy Place.

Blyth is best known for playing young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) and currently stars in the TV series Billy the Kid. Bader’s credits include Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, My Lady Jane, and the fourth season of Charmed.
