Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., for high-level talks on the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

The visit formed part of Zelenskyy’s continuing diplomatic effort to secure increased U.S. military assistance as the conflict enters its tenth year.

During the meeting, President Trump suggested a controversial approach to ending the war, proposing that both Ukraine and Russia declare victory as a pathway to cease hostilities.

Ukraine continues to seek advanced weapons systems, financial backing, and sustained allied support to counter Russian aggression and defend its territory.

Zelenskyy emphasized that continued U.S. aid remains critical to Ukraine’s defense and long-term security posture.

While Trump’s proposal drew attention, the United States continues to provide military and diplomatic support to Ukraine as part of its broader strategy in Eastern Europe.

The war has displaced millions and altered global markets, especially in the energy and agricultural sectors. International stakeholders are closely monitoring the outcome of Zelenskyy’s Washington meetings as the conflict continues to carry major geopolitical and humanitarian implications.
