PARIS—In challenging weather conditions, wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan competed in the men’s 400-meter T52 during the 17th Paralympic Games on Friday. A steady downpour marked the event, but Mangliwan showed resilience on the track.

Competing in one of two heats, he finished fourth. His time of 1:05.79 was sufficient to qualify for the final event scheduled for early Saturday morning. The performance demonstrated his experience and determination as a three-time Paralympian.
