The Phoenix Suns are actively working with Kevin Durant’s business partner to explore possible trade options for the 15-time NBA All-Star, according to an ESPN report published Wednesday.
The Suns have reportedly held multiple meetings over the past week with Rich Kleiman, Durant’s long-time manager and CEO of Boardroom, to evaluate potential trade destinations for the veteran forward.
Teams that have shown interest in the 36-year-old include the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs. The report also noted that several “wild-card” teams have recently entered the discussions.
Durant is set to earn $54.7 million in the 2025–26 season. A trade would make him eligible to sign a two-year contract extension worth up to $112 million in July.
Phoenix finished the 2024–25 NBA season with a 36–46 record despite having the league’s highest payroll. The disappointing season led to the firing of head coach Mike Budenholzer and a front office shake-up that included the demotion of general manager James Jones.
Durant, a two-time NBA champion and four-time scoring champion, averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists across 62 games this past season.
