MANILA, Philippines– The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Friday issued a reminder to the public regarding its rabies benefit package after reports of animal bite incidents and related rabies concerns.
PhilHealth announced that members and their qualified dependents exposed to rabies due to animal bites are eligible for an animal bite treatment package valued at a fixed amount of P5,850.
The package includes a rabies vaccine, rabies immune globulin, local wound care, tetanus toxoid, anti-tetanus serum, antibiotics, and necessary treatment supplies such as syringes, alcohol, and antiseptics.
Individuals can access the package at Animal Bite Treatment Centers or designated health facilities.
