JERUSALEM — The Israeli military confirmed on Friday that it carried out airstrikes on “military sites” linked to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese media reported a series of strikes concentrated in the region, adding to tensions between the two sides.
These airstrikes are significant as they occur after a ceasefire agreement brokered on November 27, aimed at ending over a year of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) identified the targets as Hezbollah-related military installations.
Israel has long accused Hezbollah of stockpiling weapons and fortifying bases near the Israeli border.
Hezbollah has not yet responded to the latest Israeli airstrikes. The group, backed by Iran, has been a key player in the region and remains a vocal opponent of Israeli policies and military actions.
