AUSTIN, Texas– Over $70,000 worth of music equipment was stolen from a recording studio in East Austin last month, marking a significant loss for the studio and the local music community.
The stolen items included more than 20 guitars and other essential recording gear.
The burglary occurred at night when the studio was not in use, and police reports suggest the thieves may have targeted specific high-value equipment, indicating some knowledge of the studio’s inventory.
The studio owner, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed frustration over the incident. The studio has been an important part of the local music scene, providing a space for both emerging and established artists to collaborate and create. The theft has disrupted the studio’s ability to continue offering services to the community.
Local musicians have voiced their concerns as well. Many of them relied on the studio’s resources, and the theft has forced some to seek alternative recording spaces.
The police are investigating the theft and reviewing security footage from the area. Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information that may assist in recovering the stolen items. No arrests have been made as of now.
