A small jet carrying six people crashed into a suburban area of Philadelphia on Friday, according to local officials.

The crash is the second major aviation incident in the United States within a week, following a midair collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter in Washington earlier this week.

The twin-engine aircraft was seen descending at a steep angle toward a residential area before it crashed.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise and seeing a plume of smoke rise from the crash site. Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported.

The crash occurred in a densely populated area of Philadelphia, with local authorities working to assess the situation. Initial reports indicated significant damage to several nearby residential properties. No fatalities or injuries among residents have been confirmed at this time.

The six individuals aboard the plane included four passengers and two crew members. Their identities have not been released, and efforts are underway to confirm their conditions and notify next of kin.

Local police have cordoned off the area, and investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are at the crash site. They are examining the wreckage and reviewing available flight data to determine the cause of the crash.

The crash follows an earlier aviation incident in Washington, D.C., where a passenger plane collided with a U.S. Army helicopter, leading to multiple casualties. Both incidents have raised concerns regarding air safety and protocols for managing busy airspaces.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash in Philadelphia, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The FAA and NTSB are leading the investigation, working with local law enforcement and emergency responders to determine the cause of the crash.

Officials have urged the public to avoid the area to allow emergency personnel and investigators to work. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
