Rose-Ann Aragon, a Filipina-American multimedia journalist, will serve as one of the Masters of Ceremonies at the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce Texas (PACC Texas) 15th Anniversary Gala and State Awards. The event will take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center on Friday, October 18, 2024. Aragon’s involvement in this gala highlights her continued engagement with the Filipino-American community and her career as a prominent journalist.

Aragon is well known for her work in journalism, particularly for her role at KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas. She joined KPRC in 2017 and quickly gained recognition for her coverage of significant events, including space missions with NASA and issues related to school safety. One of her most notable projects during her time at KPRC was the “Generation Under Fire” series, which focused on school safety in the United States. Aragon’s work on this series earned her a Lone Star Award, underscoring her ability to address critical issues in her reporting.

Before her time at KPRC, Aragon began her career as a multimedia journalist at WEEK/WHOI-TV in Illinois. She later moved to Cincinnati, where she continued to establish herself in the field of broadcast journalism. Aragon’s rise in the industry is marked by her coverage of various topics, from breaking news stories to investigative journalism. In one of her earlier roles, she covered the devastating tornadoes that hit Washington, Illinois, in 2013. Her experience covering significant stories has made her a respected figure in journalism.

In addition to her work in journalism, Aragon has been deeply involved in the Filipino-American community. She co-founded chapters of UniPro (Pilipino American Unity for Progress) in Chicago and Texas. UniPro is a national organization focused on empowering Filipino-American youth and professionals by promoting leadership and advocacy. Through this organization, Aragon has worked to support the Filipino community and foster greater unity among Filipino-Americans.

She has also been involved in initiatives like Lumikha, an art showcase designed to highlight and support Filipino-American artists. Her role in these efforts reflects her commitment to uplifting the voices of Filipino-Americans and providing a platform for their talents and stories.

Aragon’s upcoming role as one of the Masters of Ceremonies at the PACC Texas gala marks yet another opportunity for her to connect with the Filipino-American community. The event will begin with a Vendor Exhibit and Mixer at 5:00 PM CST, followed by the main program at 6:00 PM. As an Emmy Award-winning storyteller, Aragon is expected to bring her skills in storytelling and public speaking to the event, making it a highlight of the evening’s celebrations.
