LIPA, Philippines — Angelo Que shot a third straight six-under-par 66 on Saturday to take a five-shot lead into the final round of the ICTSI Summit Point Championship, moving closer to another Philippine Golf Tour victory.

Que carded a 54-hole total of 198, or 18 under par, on the rain-softened Summit Point layout after matching his opening-round score with a 33-33 finish.

The 47-year-old Que made his second eagle of the tournament on the 10th hole, sinking a 58-degree wedge from 93 yards.

“I am just going to play my normal game,” Que told the Inquirer. “Nothing is ever in the bag.”

Justin Quiban also shot a 66 to move into second place, while Aidric Chan posted a 67 and sits another shot behind Quiban. Que said both players can produce low scores in the final round.

“Both guys have the ability to go low,” Que said of Quiban and Chan, who ranks among Que’s first students since he began coaching this year.

Que, the 2008 Philippine Open champion at Wack Wack, said he has not kept track of his exact number of local victories but estimated that he could be chasing his 21st, 22nd or 23rd title.

Reymon Jaraula shot a 71 and trails Que by 10 shots, while Carl Corpus dropped 12 shots off the pace after a 74. Corpus started the round four shots behind Que.

Corpus, who will join Miguel Tabuena and Justin delos Santos for the Asian Games in Nagoya next week, shares a spot in the top 10 with Russell Bautista, Keanu Jahns and Sean Ramos.

In the women’s division, Chanelle Avaricio shot a final-round 68 and finished at 212 to win the title with a one-shot margin over Yvon Bisera.

Avaricio secured her second victory of the season despite Bisera’s closing 66, which included three consecutive birdies. First-round leader Sarah Ababa shot a 69 to finish three shots behind.

“I just focused on every shot, because every shot mattered,” Avaricio said. “Anything can happen here, so I just did not try to get ahead of myself.”
