MANILA, Philippines — Barbie Imperial questioned her electricity bill after receiving a charge of nearly P19,000 for her condominium unit, sharing her concern on social media on Sunday.
Imperial posted a photo of her June 2026 bill from Manila Electric Company showing a total amount due of P18,964.82.
“Yung mag-isa ka lang sa condo halos wala ka pa araw-araw dahil 12-14 hours ka sa taping. Meralco wild!!!” Imperial wrote.
As of Tuesday, Meralco had not publicly responded to Imperial’s post.
Imperial is currently filming the action-drama television series Blood vs Duty, which also stars Richard Gutierrez, Gerald Anderson and Bela Padilla.
Imperial’s post followed a similar complaint from singer Cacai Mitra, who recently questioned her residential electricity bill amounting to P94,355.21.
Mitra said her household carefully managed its electricity consumption and emphasized that the property is a residence, not a commercial establishment.
Meralco later responded to Mitra’s concerns, saying her account is classified as a “high-load service” and that her electricity consumption remained within the normal range based on her previous bills. The company also said it had contacted Mitra to discuss the details of her billing.
