Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr clinched the Saudi Pro League title with a 4–1 win over Damac on Thursday, ending his long wait for domestic silverware.
A trademark free-kick and a close-range finish in the final half-hour sealed the victory Al Nassr needed on the final day of the season, with rivals Al Hilal finishing just two points behind.
Ronaldo, 41, who had not won a major club trophy since his Serie A triumph with Juventus in 2020, was seen in tears as he watched the closing minutes from the bench after securing the title.
He now adds the Saudi championship to his domestic league titles in England, Spain and Italy, along with five UEFA Champions League crowns.
Al Nassr took a 2–0 lead before Al Damac pulled one back, but Ronaldo restored control in the 63rd minute with a free-kick that beat the goalkeeper and found the far corner through a crowd of players.
He struck again nine minutes from time, finishing a cut-back from close range to seal the result.
The Portuguese superstar, who has scored 143 international goals and is closing in on 1,000 career goals, continues to chase a sixth World Cup appearance after being named in Portugal’s squad.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2023 in a move that helped spark a wave of high-profile transfers to Saudi Arabia, as the league continues its push to grow its global profile through major investment in sport.
He previously won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 but had endured near-misses in domestic and continental competitions before finally lifting the league trophy this season.
