Tom Kane, a voice actor known for roles in animated series including “The Powerpuff Girls” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” has died at the age of 64, his representative confirmed.

Kane died at a hospital in Kansas City, surrounded by his family, according to his representative Zachary McGinnis, who confirmed the death to US media outlets on Tuesday, May 19.

McGinnis said Kane was known for performances across animated series, documentaries, and video games, and described his work as influential in shaping widely recognized characters.

Kane voiced Professor Utonium and HIM in “The Powerpuff Girls,” as well as Yoda and Admiral Yularen in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

He also provided voices for characters in “The Wild Thornberrys,” including Darwin, and served as Narrator Smurf in “The Smurfs,” along with multiple roles in video games.

Kane was born and raised in Kansas and built a career spanning animation, film, and gaming voice work.
