LOS ANGELES — Lisa of Blackpink will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States next month, according to a report from The Athletic on Friday.
FIFA has signed a performance agreement with Lisa for the tournament’s opening festivities, the report said. She is scheduled to appear ahead of the United States versus Paraguay match at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 12, alongside Katy Perry, Future, and DJ Sanjoy.
Lisa’s performance will make her the first female artist from a K-pop group to perform at a World Cup opening ceremony.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with three separate opening ceremonies planned across the host countries.
In Mexico City, performances are scheduled at Estadio Azteca on June 11 by Maná, Alejandro Fernández, and Belinda. In Toronto, Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, and Alessia Cara are set to perform on June 12. The United States and Canada ceremonies are expected to last 13 minutes each, while the Mexico ceremony is scheduled for 16 minutes and 30 seconds.
Lisa debuted with the K-pop group Blackpink in 2016 and later launched a solo career. Her 2021 solo single “Lalisa” recorded more than 736,000 first-week sales, setting a record at the time for a female K-pop solo artist.
She has continued releasing music, including the 2025 album “Alter Ego” and the recent collaboration “Bad Angel” with producer Anyma.
