ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Pakistan is working to facilitate renewed talks between Iran and the United States and to extend a ceasefire to allow more time for diplomatic negotiations, a senior Pakistani official said.
A source familiar with the matter said efforts are ongoing to bring both sides back to the negotiating table and that Islamabad remains a possible venue for the talks, although no final decision has been made.
The source said discussions could take place soon but noted that no date has been confirmed.
The official also said Pakistan is seeking an extension of the current ceasefire to provide additional time for negotiations between the two sides.
