Actress Aubrey Plaza is expecting her first child with actor Christopher Abbott, more than a year after the death of her ex-husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena.
A representative confirmed the pregnancy to People magazine on Tuesday, April 7, saying the baby is due in fall 2026. The representative described the pregnancy as a “beautiful surprise” for Plaza following a difficult period after Baena’s death.
Plaza and Abbott have kept their relationship private. They previously worked together on the 2020 film Black Bear and the off-Broadway production Danny and the Deep Blue Sea from 2023 to 2024. The exact start of their romantic relationship has not been publicly disclosed.
Baena, Plaza’s former husband, died by suicide in January 2025 at age 47. Plaza and Baena had married in 2021 after a decade-long relationship and separated in September 2024, though they reportedly remained in contact.
Plaza is best known for her role as April Ludgate in the TV series Parks and Recreation and for her performance as Harper Spiller in HBO’s The White Lotus. She has also appeared in films including Honey Don’t!, My Old Ass, Ingrid Goes West, Emily the Criminal, and Megalopolis, as well as the Marvel series Agatha All Along.
