MANILA, Philippines- Actress Julia Montes became emotional after receiving an early birthday surprise from her longtime partner, Coco Martin.
Montes shared a video of the moment on her Facebook page on March 11, showing Martin entering a room carrying a rectangular birthday cake topped with sliced strawberries. The actor, accompanied by staff members, sang “Happy Birthday” as the surprised actress stood up from her seat and burst into tears.
“Early birthday surprise from my Palagi,” Montes wrote in the caption.
In the video, Montes blew out the candles before giving Martin a kiss and a hug as she thanked him for the gesture. The actress is set to celebrate her 31st birthday on March 19.
The couple will soon reunite on screen in the upcoming television series Sigabo, expected to premiere later this year. The project marks their first on-screen partnership in four years after their characters’ storyline in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Montes and Martin have previously worked together in several projects, including Walang Hanggan, Ikaw Lamang, A Moment in Time, and Wansapanataym.
Last year, the couple was the subject of rumors claiming they had already married and had children together. Martin later clarified that they are not yet married, saying they are currently focused on building their dream house.
Meanwhile, Martin’s long-running television drama FPJ’s Batang Quiapo is scheduled to air its final episode on March 13 ahead of the anticipated release of Sigabo.
