MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday warned the public about fraudulent emails falsely claiming to come from her or her office.
The warning came after the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines received reports that some individuals had received suspicious emails pretending to be from the vice president.
According to Duterte, one of the fake email addresses being circulated is vicepresidentsaraa@gmail.com, which she clarified is not connected to her or her office.
“I would like to clarify that this email address is not my personal account and is not connected to our office,” Duterte said in a statement.
She urged the public to remain vigilant when receiving unexpected emails and advised them not to provide sensitive information or respond to requests from suspicious accounts.
Duterte added that official communications from her office are sent only through the OVP’s verified social media pages and its official email address: vp@ovp.gov.ph.
The vice president called on the public to report suspicious messages and remain cautious to avoid falling victim to online scams.
