SANTA MONICA, Calif. — More than 30 years after its release, Selena Quintanilla’s album Amor Prohibido is receiving one of the recording industry’s highest honors.
The Recording Academy announced Wednesday that the iconic 1994 album has been inducted into the 2026 GRAMMY Hall of Fame.
Amor Prohibido features some of Selena’s most beloved hits, including the title track, “No Me Queda Más,” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” songs that helped solidify her status as the “Queen of Tejano.”
The GRAMMY Hall of Fame recognizes recordings that are at least 25 years old and have enduring cultural or historical significance. Inductees are chosen each year by a committee of music professionals, with final approval from the Recording Academy’s National Board of Trustees.
For fans, the honor is another reminder that Selena’s music and influence continue to resonate. As many would say, it’s “anything for Selenas.”
