MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ria Atayde said nothing disrupted her wedding to actor Zanjoe Marudo amid reports of an alleged confrontation between Robi Domingo and John Lloyd Cruz during the event.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Atayde said she was unaware of any incident involving the two guests and emphasized that the ceremony proceeded smoothly.
“If something happened between them, they kept it away from me. It wasn’t something that disrupted the event or anything. It went very smoothly. It was a beautiful night,” Atayde said.
Atayde said the wedding was intended to be a private and intimate gathering, attended only by close friends and family. She added that guests cooperated with the couple’s request to avoid taking photos or videos during the ceremony.
“That was what we wanted from the start. It was non-negotiable to have a party like that,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to the guests who attended the celebration.
“We’re so grateful that they all showed up for us,” Atayde said. “It was just a nice celebration of our love and of everyone who has been a part of our story as a couple.”
The comments came after showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz reported that Domingo and Cruz allegedly had a confrontation during the wedding reception. According to Diaz’s account, Cruz reportedly approached Domingo after he hosted a segment of the program and questioned remarks Domingo made while onstage. Diaz said the exchange allegedly drew the attention of other guests.
Neither Domingo nor Cruz has issued a public statement addressing the report.
