WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is reviewing a possible expansion of existing travel restrictions to include about 30 additional countries, following the fatal shooting of two National Guard soldiers.
Senior officials from the Department of Homeland Security, State Department, and intelligence agencies are examining security, vetting, and information-sharing practices as part of the review.
The proposed expansion could affect travelers, students, workers, and family members seeking entry to the U.S. Officials have not disclosed which countries may be added. The administration said the review aims to prevent individuals who could pose security risks from entering the country.
