Kim Kardashian shares latest brain scan after aneurysm diagnosis

LOS ANGELES — Kim Kardashian underwent a brain scan on her show The Kardashians, months after revealing she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. The episode, Season 7, Episode 6, featured celebrity doctor Dr. Daniel Amen, who also previously scanned sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.

Amen told Kardashian that while her brain was “beautiful” and she generally managed stress well, her frontal lobes were less active than normal and showed “holes” in areas where activity is expected. He explained that this could make managing stress more difficult, particularly as she prepares for the California bar exam.

The frontal lobe controls thinking, emotions, personality, judgment, self-control, muscle control, movements, and memory storage, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Amen noted that the observed differences in activity may be linked to the stress Kardashian is experiencing while studying for the bar.

Kardashian, 45, revealed her original diagnosis in the Season 7 premiere, saying stress had affected her health, including triggering psoriasis, a skin condition that causes thick, scaly patches.

A brain aneurysm is a small bulge in a blood vessel wall, which can rupture and cause severe bleeding. While dangerous if ruptured, most aneurysms do not burst and are often discovered during tests for other conditions, according to the Mayo Clinic.
