MANILA — Governors from across the Philippines on Thursday reaffirmed their support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during a meeting at Malacañang Palace, officials said, as they discussed national programs, local development priorities, and coordination between the national and local governments.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the governors backed the President’s policies on infrastructure, agriculture, social services, and investment promotion.

Cabinet members and presidential advisers briefed attendees on the status of flagship projects and initiatives impacting provincial development, including road networks, health services, and support for farmers and fisherfolk.

During the meeting, governors raised concerns about budget allocation, project timelines, and coordination with national agencies, seeking clarity on issues related to economic recovery, inflation, and job generation.

Malacañang officials also noted that major business groups conveyed continued support for the administration’s economic agenda, reporting ongoing coordination with government on public-private partnerships, foreign investment promotion, and sector-specific initiatives in energy, manufacturing, and services.

The Office of the President said national agencies will follow up with technical discussions with provincial governments to refine project lists, funding requirements, and implementation schedules in line with the administration’s medium-term development plan.

Presidential directives called for regular dialogue between agencies, governors, and private sector groups to monitor project progress and address implementation challenges identified during the meeting.

The PCO said it will release further details on commitments and timelines after consolidating input from participating governors and business organizations.
