MANILA, Philippines– The Quezon City government has halted four major infrastructure projects after the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) revoked the licenses of several construction firms linked to Discaya.

City authorities issued stop-work orders following PCAB’s ruling, which cited violations of national construction laws and regulations. The affected projects include road expansion and public facility construction initiatives that form part of Quezon City’s development plan.

Mayor Joy Belmonte underscored the city’s commitment to enforcing compliance among all contractors involved in public projects. She stated that adherence to legal and safety standards remains a top priority.

The city government is now identifying qualified replacement contractors to resume the projects and minimize disruptions to infrastructure goals. Officials have assured residents that transparency will guide the contractor selection process.

Discaya-linked firms are currently appealing PCAB’s decision, a move that could affect the timeline for resuming work. The city’s legal team continues to monitor developments to address any potential legal complications.

Despite delays, Quezon City officials affirmed that maintaining integrity, accountability, and safety in all infrastructure projects remains their foremost concern.
