Hamas announced agreement to certain elements of a peace plan proposed under President Donald Trump, aiming to reduce tensions between Israel and Gaza.

The plan requires Hamas to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from select areas in the Gaza Strip. Officials said the initiative seeks to stabilize the region and create conditions for lasting peace.

Hamas spokespersons confirmed their willingness to consider the proposal, noting initial agreement to specific terms, though negotiations remain ongoing. The move represents a shift in dialogue between the parties, opening the possibility for further diplomatic talks.

The peace plan addresses key points of contention, including humanitarian concerns in Gaza and Israel’s territorial demands. Israeli authorities have long emphasized the safe return of hostages as a non-negotiable condition.

Israel plans a phased troop withdrawal to reduce military confrontations and alleviate tensions in Gaza. Observers note the measure could also improve humanitarian conditions for residents.

The proposal includes security assurances and mechanisms for continued bilateral dialogue. Hamas’s partial acceptance marks a rare consensus in the otherwise tense relations between Gaza leadership and Israeli authorities.

International observers monitor the situation closely, recognizing the historical role of external actors in mediating Israeli-Palestinian tensions. Officials stress that sustained dialogue and continued cooperation remain necessary to advance peace efforts.
