Japan and Canada are set to clash in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship on September 15, 2025, with both teams looking to strengthen their standing in Group G.

The match comes after contrasting starts for the two squads. Japan opened its campaign with a loss to Turkiye, while Canada secured a confident win against Libya. With both teams eyeing advancement to the next stage, the outcome could prove pivotal in determining the group’s hierarchy.

Japan’s coaching staff has emphasized the need to improve defensive organization and counterattacking plays to rebound from their earlier setback. Meanwhile, Canada aims to build on its offensive momentum and secure a second consecutive victory.

The championship, hosted by the Philippines for the first time, runs from September 12 to 28 across two major venues: the Smart Araneta Coliseum and the SM Mall of Asia Arena. This edition also introduces the tournament’s new two-year cycle format, adding significance to each group-stage encounter.

Fans are expected to fill the stands as both nations bring top volleyball talent to the court. Analysts anticipate a highly competitive match, with coaches on both sides making strategic adjustments based on their opening games.

The Japan-Canada showdown is one of the highlights of Pool G, where every result could determine qualification to the next round. The tournament continues to draw global attention, featuring some of the best volleyball nations competing for the world title.
