Lane closures will begin in August 2025 along Interstate Highway 30 in Rockwall County, Texas, as part of a roadway improvement project overseen by Williams Brothers Construction Co., Inc.
The construction, managed in coordination with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), will affect both eastbound and westbound lanes of IH-30, including left lane closures from FM 548 to FM 2642. Additional impacts will include U-turn restrictions and daytime flagging operations on FM 548. The pre-construction meeting is scheduled for Aug. 15.
The project aims to enhance traffic flow and roadway safety in response to growing transportation demands in the area. Construction activities are intended to improve overall infrastructure along the corridor, which serves both local commuters and commercial traffic in northeast Dallas and surrounding communities.
TxDOT advises motorists to expect travel delays and plan alternative routes during construction, particularly during peak travel periods. Emergency access will be coordinated with construction crews to ensure continuity of emergency services.
TxDOT has stated that safety will remain a priority throughout the project, with signage and reduced speed limits in place in work zones.
Updates and closure information will be made available through TxDOT’s website and other public information channels. Construction schedules may shift depending on weather or operational requirements.
