Heavy rain and flash flooding across Pakistan have resulted in the deaths of 32 people, including 16 children, since the onset of the monsoon season, according to disaster management officials.
The fatalities occurred due to flash floods and roof collapses in Pakistan’s northern regions, impacting areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan.
Over the past 36 hours alone, 19 individuals, including eight children, have lost their lives. The monsoon season hit the region this week, with rainstorm intensity causing significant damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
Rescue operations are ongoing to assist affected communities. Emergency declarations have been issued as authorities strive to provide relief and support to the impacted areas.
Additionally, numerous homes have been damaged or destroyed due to the adverse weather conditions. Efforts are underway to repair the damaged infrastructure and ensure the safety of residents in the flood-prone regions.
