8-year-old girl injured in home shooting near Little League field

HOUSTON, Texas — An 8-year-old girl was shot inside her home in Houston on Monday night at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The girl’s family was at home during the incident and immediately contacted emergency services. Paramedics responded to the scene, and the girl was taken to the hospital with gunshot injuries, though her condition has not been disclosed.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, which led to the evacuation of the Little League field located nearby. The evacuation was carried out as a precaution due to safety concerns for children and parents present at the field at the time.
