WAXAHACHIE, Texas — A 75-acre mixed-use development called Palmetto Road is set to begin construction in Waxahachie, Texas, as developers prepare to launch the first phase of a multi-million-dollar project, according to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.

Developer Alpine Start Development said the project will include 1,065 residential units, consisting of 915 garden-style multifamily units and 150 single-family rental homes, along with retail space.

The development site is located at Palmetto and Palmer-Boyce roads near U.S. Highway 287, south of Dallas and near Fort Worth.

Alpine Start Development filed plans indicating that construction on Phase 1 could begin in September, with an estimated cost of $35 million. The filing listed plans for 15 multifamily buildings, a 5,590-square-foot clubhouse, and 198 tuck-under garages totaling 326,967 square feet.

The company has not publicly commented on the project filing.

Alpine Start Development is a Dallas-based firm that is also involved in other residential and mixed-use projects in North Texas, including a 312-unit multifamily development under construction in Haltom City.
