Four individuals sustained injuries following a shooting incident late Saturday night outside The Grill By Miss G, a Filipino restaurant located in Hayward, California. The Hayward Police Department reported that the incident took place at approximately 10:50 p.m. on March 1, in the restaurant’s parking area. Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds, while a fourth victim sought medical assistance independently.

No suspects have been detained in connection with the shooting, and authorities have not released a suspect description. The news was initially reported by KRON4. The Grill By Miss G, known for its Filipino cuisine, live music, and karaoke nights, addressed the situation through an Instagram statement, labeling the event as an “isolated incident.”

In their message, the restaurant expressed sorrow over the occurrence, emphasizing their role in the Hayward and Castro Valley communities. The statement conveyed thoughts and support for those affected and confirmed the restaurant’s cooperation with law enforcement. The establishment reassured the public of its commitment to guest safety, marking this as their first such incident in many years of operation.

All four individuals involved are reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The search for the suspected shooter remains ongoing. The restaurant’s response included a pledge to prioritize the safety of both guests and the community.

Amidst this local concern, wider issues are at play. Pew Research indicates that about a third of U.S. adults own firearms, contributing to rising concerns over gun violence. The U.S. Surgeon General has characterized gun violence as a public health crisis, highlighting its statewide impact.

The Hayward Police Department has issued a call for information regarding the shooting. Witnesses or those with relevant information have been encouraged to contact Detective Scinto at the department’s Homicide Unit, via the phone number 510-293-7176.
