MANILA. Philippines– Three players from the Alas Pilipinas volleyball team received individual honors at the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Nations Cup held on Saturday in Manila, Philippines.
Jia De Guzman and Angel Canino were recognized among the top performers for the second consecutive year in this tournament.
Dell Palomata received her first AVC award, being named the Best Middle Blocker.
Alas Pilipinas made their first finals appearance in the AVC Women’s Nations Cup in 64 years.
Despite their historic run, Alas Pilipinas lost to Vietnam in the finals.
Vietnam, the reigning three-peat champion, dominated the match with scores of 15-25, 17-25, 14-25.
