CENTRAL TEXAS — A lottery ticket purchased at a gas station and convenience store in Central Texas has won $1 million for a resident of Grand Prairie, according to the Texas Lottery.

The Texas Lottery confirmed the winning ticket matched all necessary numbers, securing a top prize. The winner’s identity has not been disclosed. The retailer where the ticket was sold will receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket, in line with Texas Lottery policies.

The win adds to a growing list of recent substantial lottery payouts across the state. The Grand Prairie resident becomes one of several Texans to claim a seven-figure prize in recent months.

The Texas Lottery operates with the goal of generating revenue for public education and veterans’ services. Since its establishment, it has contributed billions of dollars to the state economy and funded programs including the Foundation School Fund and the Texas Veterans Commission.

Retailers benefit from increased foot traffic due to lottery ticket sales, while the broader community benefits from the funds raised. The Texas Lottery Commission ensures that all games are conducted transparently and fairly, publishing odds and prize distributions regularly.

Participants are encouraged to play responsibly and, for major winners, to seek professional financial guidance. The Texas Lottery continues to offer a wide range of games with varying odds and prize levels, maintaining strong public interest across the state.

The recent $1 million win highlights both the excitement surrounding lottery participation and its ongoing impact on local communities in Texas.
