MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo and Eldrew Yulo delivered strong performances in separate international competitions over the weekend, competing in Antibes and Cairo.
Carlos Yulo helped OAJLP Gymnastique advance to the championship round of the French Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships after the team defeated SMB Gymnastique, 44-29, in the semifinals.
Yulo posted scores of 14.833 in the floor exercise and 14.700 in the vault to contribute to his team’s victory. OAJLP Gymnastique will face defending champion ASVG Vallauris in the final on May 15.
Meanwhile, Eldrew Yulo secured the bronze medal in the floor exercise at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series in Cairo on Easter Sunday. He scored 14.000 in the event.
Daniel Marinov won the gold medal with a score of 14.233, while Arsenii Dukhno took the silver with 14.133.
Eldrew also improved his performance in the horizontal bar final, surpassing his qualification score of 13.900, which placed fifth among eight finalists.
The younger Yulo previously won his first senior-level gold medal in the same apparatus at a competition in Antalya last month.
