FORT WORTH, Texas — A Fort Worth convenience store clerk helped a woman and several others during the city’s recent winter storm, authorities and witnesses said.
Faris Hussain, who works at Evans Food Mart in South Fort Worth, carried a customer named Bobbi into the store after she was found lying outside in freezing temperatures on Saturday night. He warmed her while calling emergency services. Paramedics said the cold had put her in serious danger. Bobbi was taken to a hospital; her condition has not been released.
Hussain also allowed another man, identified as Marlon, who said he is homeless, to stay inside the store to warm up during the storm.
Hussain greets regular customers by name and described helping them as part of caring for his community.
Evans Food Mart serves as a local hub where residents come not only for groceries but also for conversation and support, witnesses said.
