Winona Ryder signs on for ‘Wednesday’ season 3

LOS ANGELES — Winona Ryder has joined the cast of the Netflix series Wednesday for its third season, the streaming platform announced Tuesday, Feb. 24, as production began near Dublin, Ireland.

Netflix confirmed Ryder’s casting in a press release and on its official social media accounts. The company said filming for season three is underway and introduced Ryder as a new cast member.

Reports said Ryder will portray a new character named Tabitha. The production did not release further details about the role.

The project reunites Ryder with executive producer and director Tim Burton, who directed her in the films Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice. Ryder also previously worked with lead star Jenna Ortega in the 2024 film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Season three will also introduce new cast members Eva Green, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. Producers have not announced a release date.

“Wednesday,” which premiered in 2022, follows Wednesday Addams as she studies at Nevermore Academy and investigates mysteries tied to her family.
