WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House has indicated a possible increase in federal law enforcement presence in Washington, D.C., following an alleged attack on a former Department of Justice staff member.

President Donald Trump addressed the issue during a recent engagement, warning that the federal government may intervene if local authorities fail to respond effectively.

President Trump criticized local D.C. leadership and called for swift action to address crime in the nation’s capital. He stated that the federal government would take necessary steps to ensure order if the city does not “get its act together.”

His remarks followed reports of the incident involving the former DOJ employee, which remains under investigation.

Local law enforcement officials have not yet issued a formal response to the President’s comments. The Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed its cooperation with federal authorities during the investigation.

The White House has not disclosed specific agencies that might take part in any increased law enforcement presence. Agencies such as the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security typically assist during elevated security situations in the capital.

The alleged attack has renewed public concern about safety in D.C., especially for current and former government employees. The exact nature of the incident and the circumstances surrounding it remain undisclosed pending further investigation.
