MANILA, Philippines — Actor-comedian Vice Ganda addressed a viral video on social media showing a netizen chasing him at an airport, claiming she did not know his identity, during the January 5 episode of “It’s Showtime.”
The video, originally posted by Jessamine Tamaray Concepcion, shows her pursuing Vice while saying, “Ito ‘yung sikat na artista sa Pilipinas” (“This is a famous celebrity in the Philippines”). Concepcion later deleted the post and locked her Facebook account.
Vice said on the show that Concepcion recognized him immediately and disputed her claim of forgetting his name. “She said, ‘Ay, si Vice Ganda,’ then took a video of me. She really chased me, and it was annoying,” he said. He declined to share further details, citing concern over online backlash against the netizen.
Vice Ganda is currently promoting his Metro Manila Film Festival entry Call Me Mother, for which he won the Best Actor award.
