MANILA, Philippines– Vice Ganda, television host and comedian, said he is considering parenthood with his partner Ion Perez through surrogacy during an episode of “It’s Showtime.”
He explained that pursuing surrogacy could require a temporary leave from his hosting duties.
The comedian said the process would demand time and focus away from his daily live television schedule, and he and Perez are still evaluating when and how to proceed. Vice Ganda added that he wants to remain physically present and hands-on throughout the surrogacy process, which he continues to discuss with Perez and their close circle.
The comedian described parenthood as a serious long-term commitment rather than a spontaneous decision. He noted that he is considering the emotional and professional effects of stepping away from “It’s Showtime,” where he serves as a main host, and he has not set a timeline for a potential leave.
Vice Ganda emphasized thorough preparation for all stages of surrogacy, including medical and legal arrangements. He said he and Perez are balancing work responsibilities with their desire to start a family and plan to choose a timing favorable to both career and personal life.
Vice Ganda reiterated that he and Perez have not made a final decision and remain in the planning and consultation stage regarding surrogacy and any potential work hiatus.
