WASHINGTON — A U.S. House committee investigating convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein released video Monday of closed-door depositions from former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The couple testified before the House Oversight Committee last week regarding their past interactions with Epstein.

Hillary Clinton told lawmakers she did not know Epstein and urged the panel to also depose Donald Trump under oath, citing his name appearing in previously released Justice Department files. Being mentioned in the files does not imply wrongdoing, and neither Trump nor Bill Clinton has been formally accused of a crime related to Epstein.

Bill Clinton said he had “done nothing wrong” and stated he severed ties with Epstein before the financier’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from minors. Clinton has acknowledged flying on Epstein’s private plane for foundation-related humanitarian work but has denied visiting Epstein’s private island.

Epstein died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide.

The Clintons initially challenged subpoenas to testify but later complied after House Republicans threatened contempt proceedings. Democrats argue the investigation is politically motivated.
