UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas — A major fire at a multi-building apartment complex in Universal City, northeast of San Antonio, left residents of 64 units displaced and prompted emergency agencies to coordinate temporary housing and financial assistance, fire officials reported.

Authorities confirmed no fatalities at the scene. Information on injuries remained pending as medical personnel continued evaluations. Firefighters worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other structures.

Displaced residents were directed to a staging area, where the American Red Cross provided emergency lodging, meals, clothing, and essential items. Local nonprofits and faith-based groups began organizing donation drives to support families affected by the fire. City officials also opened communication lines for residents seeking information on housing, transportation, and social services.

Investigators from the Universal City Fire Department launched an inquiry into the cause of the fire, examining the point of origin, electrical systems, and potential ignition sources. Officials said it was too early to determine whether the blaze was accidental or involved equipment malfunction.

Updates on the fire investigation, safety inspections, and assistance programs will be provided as more information becomes available.
