MANILA, Philippines— National University forward Jake Figueroa announced that he intends to pursue a professional basketball career overseas following his final UAAP game for the Bulldogs.

Figueroa, who helped NU reach the Final Four in multiple seasons, has not received formal offers and plans to discuss options with his family and representatives before committing to any team abroad.

He said he remains open to playing in local professional leagues if overseas opportunities do not materialize and intends to use the offseason to enhance his skills and conditioning to meet international standards.

Figueroa credited his time with NU for his development as a two-way player relied on for scoring, rebounding, and defense.

The forward expressed gratitude to NU’s coaching staff, teammates, and school community for supporting his growth during his collegiate career. Figueroa added that he hopes to follow in the footsteps of other Filipino standouts who have signed with clubs in Japan’s B.League, Korea’s KBL, and other international leagues.
