DALLAS, Texas — Two police officers from North Texas were injured after being struck by a vehicle during a high-speed chase.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Diego Battle, was later apprehended after leading law enforcement on a pursuit that spanned from Mansfield to Dallas.

Authorities report that the chase began early Friday morning, leaving a trail of chaos in its wake.

The incident unfolded when Mansfield police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Battle.

The situation quickly escalated when the suspect allegedly collided with two officers, injuring them.

Following the initial contact with officers, Battle fled the scene, prompting an extended chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Reports indicate that the chase concluded in Dallas after an hour-long standoff with police.

The injured officers, whose names have not been disclosed, were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Their condition remains undisclosed, but initial reports suggest that their injuries are not life-threatening.

Mansfield Police Chief Travis Thompson praised the quick response and coordination among the multiple agencies involved, attributing their efforts to the safe resolution of a potentially volatile situation.

Diego Battle faces several charges, including aggravated assault of a peace officer.
