President Donald Trump began a diplomatic mission to the Middle East on Monday following the signing of a new Israel-Hamas peace agreement.
The 12-hour tour included visits to two countries, starting in Egypt.
In Cairo, Trump met with leaders and diplomats from more than 36 nations to discuss the details of the peace deal. The meetings focused on strengthening support for the agreement and ensuring coordinated implementation among participating countries.
The treaty, described as a major step toward stability in the region, aims to promote long-term peace between Israel and Palestine. Discussions in Egypt centered on the mechanisms for enforcing the agreement and maintaining cooperation among signatory nations.
Officials also addressed related issues, including regional security, economic development, and humanitarian assistance in conflict-affected areas.
The United States reiterated its role in supporting diplomatic efforts and sustaining open communication channels in the Middle East.
